Frequently asked questions
How is word count calculated?
▾
Words are counted by splitting text on whitespace. Hyphenated words (e.g., 'well-known') are typically counted as one word. Numbers and punctuation-only tokens may vary by implementation.
How is reading time estimated?
▾
Based on an average adult reading speed of approximately 200–250 words per minute. The estimate assumes silent reading of continuous prose — technical content and code may take longer.
What is the Flesch reading ease score?
▾
A readability formula that scores text from 0 (very difficult) to 100 (very easy) based on average sentence length and average syllables per word. Scores above 60 are considered easy to read.
