Meta Tags Preview

Generate SEO meta tags: title, description, robots, canonical and more

About Meta Tags Preview

Builds a ready-to-paste block of HTML head tags from eight fields: charset, viewport, title, description, keywords, author, robots and canonical URL. Charset, viewport and robots start with common defaults (UTF-8, a responsive viewport and index, follow), and the other tags are left out while empty. The output is code only, with no visual preview, and updates as you type.

Category: SEO.

Frequently asked questions

What are meta tags?

▾

HTML elements in the <head> section that describe the page to browsers and search engines. This generator covers charset, viewport, description, keywords, author and robots, plus the <title> element and the canonical link; for Open Graph and Twitter Card tags, use the Open Graph Preview tool.

Which meta tags affect SEO?

▾

The <title> matters most: search engines use it to understand the page and usually show it as the result headline. The description can shape the snippet and click-through rate but isn't a ranking factor, robots controls indexing and link following, and Google ignores the keywords tag.

What is the canonical tag?

▾

rel="canonical" tells search engines which URL is the preferred version of a page when the same or very similar content is reachable at several URLs. Google treats it as a strong hint rather than a directive and uses it to consolidate signals such as links onto one URL.

Does the generator escape quotes or special characters?

▾

No. Values are inserted exactly as typed, so a double quote inside the description, keywords or author breaks that tag's content attribute. Replace it with &quot; or use single quotes before pasting the code.
