List Converter
Convert between newline-separated lists, CSV, and JSON arrays
About List Converter
Reshapes a list between one-item-per-line text, a single comma-separated line and a JSON array through four modes: Rows to CSV, CSV to Rows, Rows to JSON and JSON to Rows. Output updates as you type, copies in one click and never leaves your browser. Handy for turning a spreadsheet column into an array for a config file or test fixture.

Frequently asked questions
What list formats are supported?
▾
Newline-separated rows, a single line of comma-separated values and JSON arrays. Bullet lists, numbered lists and custom delimiters are not recognized, so markers such as - or 1. stay part of each item.
Can it handle quoted values with commas inside?
▾
No. CSV to Rows splits on every comma and keeps quotation marks as part of the items, and Rows to CSV joins items with a comma and a space without adding quotes. If your items contain commas, use Rows to JSON instead, which keeps each line intact.
Can I trim whitespace from items?
▾
Trimming is automatic rather than optional: in Rows to CSV, CSV to Rows and Rows to JSON, spaces around each item are removed and empty items are dropped. JSON to Rows outputs the array elements unchanged.
Are numbers kept as numbers in the JSON output?
▾
No. Rows to JSON always creates an array of strings indented with two spaces, so 42 becomes "42". In the other direction, JSON to Rows accepts only an array and writes each element's text form on its own line, so nested objects appear as [object Object].
