Color Palette

Generate analogous, triadic and complementary palettes

About Color Palette

Builds five-color palettes from a base color set with the hue wheel, a color picker or a HEX code, using harmony presets such as Analogous, Triadic, Square and Shades, or a Custom mode where you drag each color's hue on the wheel. A From Image tab pulls five representative colors from a picture you choose. Useful for UI themes, charts and brand explorations.

Frequently asked questions

Which harmony modes are available?

▾

Eight presets plus Custom: Analogous (hues 15° and 30° to each side), Complementary (the base and its 180° opposite), Split (the base plus hues at 150° and 210°), Triadic (120° apart), Square (90° apart), Compound (nearby hues plus their complements), Shades (one hue at five lightness levels) and Monochromatic (one hue with varied saturation and lightness). Each preset returns five colors, some of them lighter or softer variants.

How are colors extracted from an image?

▾

The image is scaled to 80×80 pixels, one pixel in four is sampled (mostly transparent ones are skipped) and k-means clustering groups the samples into five average colors. Small accent colors can be absorbed by larger areas; Use as Custom palette loads the result into Custom mode for editing.

Which formats can I copy or export?

▾

Clicking a swatch copies its HEX code, and Copy all copies the five HEX codes, one per line. RGB and HSL values appear in the detail line below the swatches, and the PNG button downloads an 800-pixel-wide image with HEX, RGB and HSL labels under every swatch.

Is my image uploaded to a server?

▾

No. All processing runs in your browser using the HTML Canvas API. Your image data never leaves your device.
